What is the point of LinkedIn anyway? Who are my followers? Does anyone read the updates I post? Questions upon questions. How can the data from LinkedIn be analysed and used for future strategies?
No matter how long your company profile has been on LinkedIn, you can use the Analytics page on LinkedIn to directly analyse the interaction data generated by your company profile.
LinkedIn Analytics: How can posts and profiles be analysed?
Without analytics, it can be very difficult to achieve good results for your company, as you lack feedback on which content encourages interaction and which performs well. Your LinkedIn analytics page will show you your monthly engagement metrics for the company profile as well as the individual posts. If you optimise your posts based on the performance data, you will see an increase in interactions from month to month.
How can you get the most out of it?
It always makes sense to analyse data. Then you can see not only which content is being interacted with, but also who is interacting with it. If you know your demographic target group better, you can refine your content even further. Based on this collected data, you can create content that really resonates with your target group.
It is advisable to add tracking codes to the links within your posts. This allows you to analyse exactly which traffic comes to your website via LinkedIn page updates. You can also plan future website links accordingly.
Data export from LinkedIn - How can the data be analysed outside of LinkedIn?
You can not only access your LinkedIn page analytics in the admin area of your account, but also export the data as an Excel file. You can then create separate analytics reports for the respective data areas - i.e. visitors, updates and followers.
This is how data export works in just a few steps: #StepByStep
- Log in to the Admin Centre of the company profile.
- Click on «Analytics».
- Select «Visitors», «Updates» or «Follower».
- In the top right-hand corner of the desired Analytics page, click on «export«.
- Select the time frame for which you would like to create a report and click on «Export».
- The .xls file is available after download.
Once the data has been exported, it can be imported into other tools and analysed.
