LinkedIn is the number one social media platform for B2B content distribution – and therefore indispensable for B2B advertising. Adverts in social networks are most effective when they address target persons where they are already frequently present. For over 660 million professionals, this is the platform LinkedIn.

You may have already done a bit of research into ads on LinkedIn - but even if this type of advertising is completely new to you, you probably recognise the potential of targeted campaigns. These campaigns will raise awareness of your content and reach a specific target group of LinkedIn members.


Last year, it was announced that over 600 million users can be reached through adverts on LinkedIn.

The good news is that you can create an advert for your company in just a few minutes using your LinkedIn account.

Here are the first three steps to get you started:
1. Create an account for the Campaign Manager

With the Campaign Manager, LinkedIn has launched an all-in-one advertising platform. From there, you can set up your ad accounts, run campaigns and keep an eye on your ad budget. All you need is an existing LinkedIn account.

2. Set your campaign goal

You should have a clear goal in mind before starting the campaign. Which step in the Marketing Funnel do you want to achieve? Awareness, Consideration or Conversion?

If you know your exact goals, as well as your ideal advertising strategy, your business objective and how your brand awareness has developed over time, LinkedIn will provide you with the right data to ensure optimal campaign creation.

3. Launching the campaign

Once you have set your campaign objectives, LinkedIn will guide you through defining your target audience, setting an ad budget and uploading your creative. Finally, the payment details are entered and the campaign can be started.
