The marketing funnel is an important part of the marketing process. It describes the most direct journey that customers could take on their decision-making process.

There is no universal version of the funnel but there are various explanations, including three, four or five or additionally more steps that consumers go through on their customer journey.

In theory the Marketing- and Sales Funnel is quite simply, it maps your customers' journey from prospect to customer, and combines this with the tools and processes you use to guide them elegantly through the process. From the initial contact with a company and the actual purchase, prospects move through different touchpoints that are often divided into the phases:  Awareness, Consideration and Decision.

ToFu, MoFu and BoFu are Acronyms and stand for Top of the Funnel, Middle of the Funnel and Bottom of the Funnel. These are important stations, so-called Touchpoints in the marketing and sales funnel process that any good marketing strategy needs to take into account.

AWARENESS – Top of the Funnel #ToFu

The first touchpoint in the conversion funnel is all about, to arouse needs.
The first phase within the conversion funnel has the task of awakening this desire, creating a need and drawing attention to your own product. So this is what it is all about, to create awareness among the unknown. An awareness for the problem and the solution, that he gets delivered with the product. Therefore, this first touch is also called Awareness phase .

CONSIDERATION – Middle of the Funnel #MoFu

The next touchpoint in the conversion funnel is the Consideration.
The search for a suitable solution and a suitable solution provider begins with the Consideration. Consideration. There are questions and scenarios that are worked through in the consideration process. Ultimately, this involves to find an ideal solution that meets the task at hand.

CONVERSION – Bottom of the Funnel #BoFu

The decisive touchpoint is Acquisation and/or conversion.
In online marketing, a conversion is a process in which the recipient of a marketing message a desired action executes. Possible conversions in digital marketing can be the following interactions: clicks, downloads, etc. are measured by means of the conversion rate.

From the Awareness via Consideration to Conversion, in the digital age. To properly engage potential customers at each stage of the sales funnel, you need different types of content.
